A knight stood between two fountains. One poured gold. The other poured something darker that had no name. He was told to choose. He put one foot in each. The water rose. The gold mixed with the dark. The mixture had a color that neither fountain could produce alone. The knight removed his crown of stars and set it on the surface of the new water. It floated.
