From my first time EVER at the anchor desk (internship 2009) this little girl with big dreams will be filling in anchoring tomorrow for @LelandVittert on @NewsNation Friday Feb 20, 2026. It’s fitting because Leland has been a HUGE support and cheerleader for me. He often pulls me aside and offers me advice with words of wisdom. He helps me confront my nerves and pushes me to dig deeper in my reporting. Most of all he reminds me of where I started and how proud I should be of where I am today. In many ways I wouldn’t be here without him (his show was where I started filling in as a reporter back in 2021). I’m grateful for every door he’s helped open for me.
