Correct. I see the current rules, (if they are like the NBA), the teams can't go out and solicit money for players. In this case, given the current economics, it's worth evaluating changing the rules, we long as long as there is a cap. This would allow people in team sponsorship sales, to go out and solicit dollars that can go direct to players , with a cap on the team generated dollars to a player , and for the entire team. Currently any player can have an agent or marketing team do this for them. The reality however, is that the agents or marketing people for the vast majority of players, don't have the local connections that the teams and their sponsorship groups have. Plus the wnba and NBA have even better connections. Rather than just referring inbound requests to player agents, they could close the deals for individual players, raising their incomes. Without impacting the economics of he teams or the leagues.
