The USA is resistant to the sort of ‘social democratic’ policies of Denmark because it is too diverse and people don’t feel solidarity. The country is too big for that, and groups don’t care about each other and never will.

If you wanted to move in the direction of European socialism - the first thing you would do is stop all immigration, and force your education system to talk about social cohesion and national character. The European systems themselves are failing because they don’t do this.
