Philadelphia bar now allows only 25+ due to fake IDs. Benjamin Franklin to blame According to co-owner Jody Sweitzer, groups of young people — 20 to 30 at a time — kept showing up. The fake IDs passed scanners and UV checks, but their behavior gave them away: vaping inside, bringing their own alcohol, and causing conflicts. The final straw was a “customer” with a fake Pennsylvania ID in the name of Benjamin Franklin, listing an address near the Liberty Bell. The bar has now introduced a 25+ rule to protect its atmosphere and liquor license. Owners are looking for more advanced scanners and hope to return to 21+ in the future.
