NEW: Dog that was ditched at a cemetery in New York with a slit throat is now up for adoption, has made a full recovery.
60-year-old Anita Martin was smacked with animal cruelty charges after leaving the 1-year-old dog tied up at a Yonkers cemetery.
The dog was found with an 8-inch gash on his throat.
The SPCA Westchester rescue center says the dog, Frankie, has fully recovered.
"His tail never stops wagging. Frankie is a true testament to resilience, strength, and unwavering positivity," they said.
"After being cruelly dumped in Yonkers with a severe cut to his throat, Frankie endured unimaginable pain. Yet through it all, he never lost his joyful spirit and faith in people."
"Fortunately, the SPCA’s Humane Law Enforcement Unit arrested Frankie’s owner. Now that this sweet 1-year-old mix has made a full recovery, he’s officially ready to find his forever home!"
"If you’re looking for a super outgoing, loving and playful pup, please stop in to meet Frankie."
