Why Now It’s difficult to build things that depend on truth. If you’re launching a prediction market, bounty, escrow, insurance primitive, or even a programmable will — you need a reliable way to resolve whether something actually happened. Optimistic Determination (The approach Polymarket uses via UMA) works well for large, high-attention markets, but it can be slow, operationally heavy, and brittle for smaller or more specific claims. Manual resolution doesn’t scale. Agentic Determination, where an AI makes the judgement, was once science fiction but now seems increasingly like an option. There are plenty of problems (AIs are indeterminate and can hallucinate) but there are also ways to address these issues. If we can find a way to make agentic determination reliable we could massively expand the kind of truth claims being made, who can make them, and what kinds of apps can be built. This is what we're exploring.

Some notes. This is version 0.1. The version that’s live is meant for testing. I'm aware that there are much better ways to set up a verification runbook and ways to run them.
