Many are assuming that money is the explanation for the xAI departures, but I'm not buying it (pardon the pun) Some of them are money motivated, sure, but not primarily. It's bigger. Why would you leave NASA in 1968 or quit the Manhattan Project a few months before Trinity? These guys are deeply smart who joined to build AGI and change the world. They've been post economic for a while, and it doesn't make sense to me that this was the only motivation.
