What's crazy is I just became the "victim" of this without even getting paid for it A new AI video model asked my API provider to promote their new model launching soon And yes it's a great model and so my APO provider sent me their tweet and I like to talk about new AI models (if they're actually good and this one was) so I quote tweeted it with my take on it and a video of the model But interesting about is that everyone (including me) posted about that same model on the same day Obviously it's to hype it up and that's organized But I don't like those kinds of promotional posts and I definitely don't like to be part of that so I deleted it now In related news Higgsfield's X account was suspended today for allegedly doing very shady things with X posts on here promising to pay people to RT them but then not paying and other stuff The AI industry is rampant with these paid promotions and while I'm fine with it, I'd personally prefer to know if it's somebody really posting their opinion or if they're getting paid directly (or indirectly via credits) The FTC I think already requires people to disclose this for ex with hashtag ad, and I know @X is now heavily enforcing this by suspending accounts that get caught for this, and that's great Anyway TL;DR just disclose if you're gettng paid to promote stuff, you're legally required to do so anyway!
