NEW: American-born Olympic skier Eileen Gu, who competes for China, defends Hunter Hess who said he had “mixed emotions” representing Team USA. At the Winter Games, Gu was seen showing off her suit that was inspired by Chinese ceramics. Gu was born and raised in San Francisco, trained with U.S. Ski & Snowboard, and went to Stanford University. “As someone who has got caught in the crossfire before, I feel sorry for the athletes. I hope that they can ski to their very best.” She took advantage of everything the United States had to offer her, then decided to compete for China and is defending Americans who say they have a “hard” time representing the U.S. Wild.
