A false narrative making the rounds is that GENIUS Act stablecoins will pose systemic risk. The claim is that they're structured like money market funds, which"broke the buck" in 2008 and suffered a Covid run in 2020, and we should expect the same to happen in future stress periods. But it is just the opposite – stablecoins will be the future safe haven.
