Beginning to entertain the possibility that 2026 is the year AI agents actually make their first impact onchain. Think we now have sufficient intelligence to make it work, with supporting infrastructure approaching production readiness. In the event this happens, transaction volumes will likely grow much faster than anyone anticipates.

Leading chains like Ethereum and Solana have been working on enabling this activity for a while (see latest Ethereum standard below). But the most interesting attempt I’ve seen so far, for creating end-to-end autonomous agents is @ritualnet.
