At 18.5, the silver-to-copper ratio just passed November 1979 levels. The high was January 1980, when they pulled the rug on the Hunt Brothers. These two metals are sometimes considered substitutes, in conductivity for example. Up here at these levels (should they persist!), you start to see industrial users switch from silver to copper, on account of basic economics.
