Yes and progressives really underrate the extent to which this betrays a fundamentally broken and disordered model of the world. Like, it’s so completely discrediting. There’s no possible way that progressives understand what this looks like to people with a more accurate model of the world. We can see that you don’t know how to think about things. It reveals that you don’t know how to evaluate events. You’re running some weird operating system where you don’t even know which questions to ask. You think we’re having a disagreement about the details, but I’ve already checked out, for the same reason that I’m not going to argue about our household budget with my kids. They don’t know any of the questions to ask. It doesn’t matter what they say, because whatever they say is going to be random and disconnected from the model I use to judge our spending.
