This is demographic engineering, not empathy: 1. the apportionment of seats in Congress and electoral votes counts *all residents*, including illegal immigrants 2. sanctuary cities attract large populations of illegal immigrants, thus inflating the power of those districts 3. when deportation efforts ramp up (threatening said demographic engineering) these are the cities and states that advocate violent resistance to ICE The American system was designed to create an incentive for politicians to serve voters, not an incentive for them to import new voters If allowed to continue, it will destroy our republic
