A deadly virus outbreak has been reported in India, with bats suspected as the vector. Five cases of infection have been confirmed. The Nipah virus is a highly lethal pathogen, and there is currently no vaccine or effective treatment available. Among the infected are doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers. A nurse has fallen into a coma and is presumed to have been infected while treating a patient with severe respiratory symptoms. Authorities have tracked about 180 contacts, of which 20 have been isolated. This virus is said to be transmissible from animals to humans and between people. Bats are considered the primary source of infection, and this disease can be asymptomatic or lead to severe respiratory complications or encephalitis. Don't go near bats.. Don't touch bats..
