Starlink has officially crossed a major global milestone.
Elon Musk congratulated the @Starlink team after the satellite internet service expanded into 35 new markets in a single year, bringing total coverage to 155+ countries.
According to Starlink, its network now covers regions that are home to 3.2 billion people, including many of the most remote areas on Earth where traditional internet infrastructure does not exist.
The expansion was supported by an aggressive launch cadence and major upgrades to the satellite network throughout 2025.
Key highlights from Starlink’s year:
• 35+ new markets added
• Coverage across 155+ countries
• 120+ Falcon 9 launches supporting the network
• 270+ terabits per second of capacity added
• Speeds improved by 50% to around 200 Mbps down, 30 Mbps up, ~26 ms latency
• Direct-to-cell partnerships with 27 mobile operators
• Next generation satellites tested on Starship
• 4.6 million new users added, reaching 9.2 million total users
The rapid growth shows how SpaceX is turning Starlink into a core layer of global connectivity, not only for homes but also for aviation, maritime, remote industries, and now direct mobile connectivity.
With service now live in over 155 countries, Starlink has become one of the largest internet networks ever deployed in such a short time frame.
