I filed an amendment that would defund the over $5 billion in taxpayer money that is devoted to welfare for refugees that is in the minibus spending bill. If my amendment doesn’t pass, your tax dollars may be spent to provide refugees with: - Cash handouts for purposes such as food, shelter, and transportation - Healthcare benefits similar to Medicaid - Day care for children - English-learning education - Employment training and job placement This amendment will be germane to the spending bill, meaning it can be adopted by a simple majority of the Senate. In other words, If – and it’s a big if – Republicans remain unified in protecting your tax dollars, the amendment can pass without a single Democrat vote.
