Deputy Health and Human Services Secretary Jim O'Neill says “HHS asked Minnesota for data on their child care program participants, enrollment, attendance records and inspection records” The are refusing to provide a single record “Minnesota has still not sent that information. We are no longer asking, we are now demanding. Since Minnesota refused to comply with their federally approved state plan and regulations, ACF has sent a preliminary notice of noncompliance to Minnesota. We put Minnesota on the clock. We gave them 60 days to send us the evidence we've been requesting since early December. If their response is insufficient, we'll pursue full penalties under the law against the state.”
