The once-ruling aristocracy had been buried under taxes, justice hamstrung by equity, the false god of equality put before all...and so an obvious marker of civilization, the crime rate, showed civilizational collapse in Albion. Then all the Pakistanis showed up and things got even worse
The crime rate is a marker of how firmly civilization is being defended, not something that is related to poverty
