Why has Bitcoin largely stayed out of DeFi? Because existing solutions force unacceptable compromises. Wrapping introduces custodians. Bridges introduce systemic risk. Custodial products require surrendering ownership and control. None of these preserve Bitcoin’s trust model. For Bitcoin holders, that tradeoff has never made sense.
