Foreign partners deal with us differently now. Having worked for a few presidents, and seeing the road show, and how we’re treated, this time is different. You’ll see some performative objections to the President’s style but, in the end, they know he’s right in his end game. He has a discursive speaking style, and he’s a hardball negotiator with no time for niceties, but when you see him operate up close, it all makes sense. Few people in politics can close a deal like President Trump. And if the President closes on a Greenland deal, watch all the doomers pretend they were behind him the entire time.
