🇺🇸 Howard Lutnick announced that the US will invest $1 trillion in semiconductor manufacturing. "Our goal is to capture 40% of the market by the time we leave office. We have Taiwan: two $250 billion blocs. Their companies will come here, to TSMC. We've provided them with a $100 billion loan, so there's another $150 billion left. Taiwan will also invest $250 billion—that's small and medium-sized companies. Thus, we're transferring the entire supply chain from Taiwan to the US, aiming for a 40% market share. As for the rest, the CHIPS Act was small. We doubled its size without spending any more money. Micron is building a $200 billion facility in the US. Ultimately, we'll invest a trillion dollars in semiconductors in America, achieve a 40% market share, and at least be able to provide for ourselves—God forbid, if that becomes necessary."
