U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said “the U.S. economy is doing quite well,” at a press conference held on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Monday. In regards to Greenland and the president’s letter to Norway blaming the country for not awarding him the Nobel Peace Prize even though the selection is made by the private Nobel Institute, Bessent said, “I think it’s a complete canard that the president will be doing this because of the Nobel Prize. The president is looking at Greenland as a strategic asset for the United States.”
