California is the best state in the nation. But far too many of us are suffering — from the high cost of living to the thousands of people living and dying on our streets. And unaccountable government is holding us back.
To continue to be the innovative, upwardly mobile state that rivals other nations, we need bold, common sense change. We need a governor focused here at home. I’m reconsidering running for the seat because what we’re doing in San Jose is working. We’ve reduced unsheltered homelessness by nearly 1/3rd. We were rated the safest big city in the nation last year. We’ve invested in technology that is making bus routes faster and city streets safer. I believe our city could be a model of what a diverse, pragmatic, innovative city looks like in the 21st century.
I will make my decision in the next two weeks. And you all will be the first to know. Thank you for your continued support, for your advocacy and for your commitment to a California that works for all of us — to a California that gets back to basics.
