Biggest shift in the past 20 years is that before people went online to escape real life. At some point it peaked and started to reverse. Now people go to real life to escape being online.

I see it in myself. I brought a brick to block apps. At first I had it on a little bit but now it’s the standard.

There are many reasons for this but primarily the internet shifted from being a place of discovery and curation to one that is flattened and continues to do so.
