Since we’re doing this trend, here’s my mother in Iran before the 1979 Islamic revolution.

On the far left in pink, my mother. On the far right, her sister (my khaleh) who was 18 and pregnant when she and her husband were taken to Evin prison. She was released to give birth to her daughter (my cousin) here celebrating her 1st birthday. Her husband was executed.
