With a heavy heart I share that my father, the mathematician Takashi Ono, has passed away. A longtime Johns Hopkins professor and prolific PhD advisor, his pioneering work on Tamagawa numbers helped shape modern number theory. I miss him deeply and I’m grateful he inspired his three sons to pursue our passions in music and science.
