I spent an entire afternoon finishing the latest episode of Musk's podcast this week. For a full three hours, Musk basically connected everything he is currently doing to his visions for the future, but the core focus remained on how to solve the problem of energy limitations. He directly dismissed the current seemingly ultimate route of controlled nuclear fusion, likening it to developing a refrigerator in the Arctic, because right next to Earth is a ready-made super nuclear fusion source—the Sun, but only one in five hundred million parts of its energy reaches Earth. He believes a reasonable goal is to harness one millionth of the Sun's energy, so his aim is to create Dyson Sphere-style solar AI satellites that convert endless energy into computing power, allowing AI to completely break free from computational limitations and reach levels of intelligence unimaginable to humans. SpaceX will be the vehicle for all of this, and at that time, Grok will completely widen the exponential gap with other AIs. Regardless, this narrative level has once again opened up the ceiling for the soon-to-be-listed SpaceX.
Subsequently, Musk introduced a new concept called UHI (Universal High Income), corresponding to the previous UBI (Universal Basic Income) proposed by Sam Altman. Musk believes that in the future, AI and humanoid robots will replace jobs, solar energy will provide unlimited energy, and the costs of all goods and services will be extremely low, leading to a time of great material abundance and global super-deflation.
