JOBS REPORT: U.S. employers added 50,000 jobs in December and the unemployment rate fell to 4.4 percent.
October revised down by a whopping 68,000 in October, to -173,000 (although much of that decline reflects delayed federal job cuts due to DOGE). November revised down by a more modest 8k to +56k.
Note that the unemployment rate for November was revised down to 4.5 percent (from 4.6 percent) as part of the annual seasonal adjustment updates.
