Several older homes in the Santa Monica Mountains used to have funiculars. This one at 8522 Oak Court in Laurel Canyon is still intact. The house is known as the John Lennon Tree House, where the former Beatle lived with May Pang during his "Lost Weekend" years in the mid-'70s.
