Florida Flashback! This 1983 photograph from the collections at the State Archives of Florida shows a man wrestling an alligator at the Brighton Seminole Reservation in Glades County. The Seminole Tribe of Florida formed in the 18th century and today live on six reservations in the state. Called the “Unconquered People” the Tribe values its traditions including sewing, patchwork and alligator wrestling.
