Danish politicians, especially those on the left, want Greenland to become independent — its own country. This is completely unrealistic. For such a tiny population, Greenland is far too strategically important. What would happen is that the U.S. would immediately make a deal with them. So what is the real difference between my suggestion of discussing a sale of Greenland and their suggestion of letting Greenland become independent? The only difference is that in their version, Denmark has lost many billions of dollars on Greenland, whereas in my version Denmark instead becomes the most prosperous nation on Earth.
