The Taiwanese Coast Guard, Army, Navy, and Air Force are continuing their search for an F-16AM Block 20 from Hualien Air Base, along with its pilot, Capt. Hsin Po-yi, who crashed Tuesday evening off the coast of Eastern Taiwan, somewhere to the east of the Fengbin Township in Hualien County. Search-and-rescue operations have been ongoing now for nearly 24 hours, with rough seas and weather making the search arduous for the Coast Guard. To make the situation more difficult, it is not known if Captain Hsin was able to eject from his F-16 prior to the crash, though the current assumption is that he was able to successfully eject and is adrift at sea, according to the Taiwanese Air Force.
