It is not the place of any Iranian living outside Iran to push people inside Iran to risk their lives. It is cruel and morally indefensible to urge others to take risks you yourself have not taken. Freedom fighters who returned to Russia, like Alexei Navalny, had skin in the game; no Iranian living outside Iran has skin in the game like that. Our obligation in the diaspora is not to incite sacrifice — it is to support those who are already risking everything. In fact, I believe every Iranian in the diaspora has an obligation to support our patriotic compatriots who are risking their lives and their freedom for our beloved homeland.
