If you've been caught up with the "Opus 4.5 will replace you" grift from the vibe code influencers - realize that quite a few of them are doing it on purpose because giving you an existential threat gets you to click. If you're a semi-decent engineer, AI will enhance your workflow, not replace it. You will be able to do a months worth of work in anywhere from a few days to two weeks - depending on the complexity of the work. You will be expected to increase output and the tools will enable you to do it. Your judgement on the quality of the code, the architecture tradeoffs, the highly contextual knowledge of your domain - all of those will become immensely valuable.
