Time for an @official_fe 2025 update! ⚡️ We believe language diversity and language research are essential to building safer systems. Fe is our exploration of that belief: a language that makes every side effect visible, prevents bugs before they happen, and pairs a modern developer experience with a strict safety system.
You may have noticed: Fe has been very quiet for the past two years. That silence was intentional - and necessary. ↓
Fe was rebuilt from the ground up. The original architecture limited its long-term potential, so the compiler, semantics, and core foundations were redesigned to support what the language needs to become.
Fe v2 is our reintroduction 🫡 A cleaner, more robust compiler. A stronger core architecture. And a renewed commitment to developer experience and long-term safety.
Major language upgrades: • A fully overhauled type system • Generics, Traits, and Higher-Kinded Types • So expressive the Fe standard library is written in Fe itself
We’re finishing the final pieces now. Expect the long-awaited Fe release toward the end of Q1 2026. 🥳 In the meantime, join the discussion and get the latest updates here:
