This is counter intuitive, but we should all actually hope and pray that we get a fast takeoff scenario for AGI, not a slow takeoff. A fast takeoff will act as a forcing function for systemic change across the economy, financial system, education, society and institutions at large. A slow takeoff will just slowly cripple everyone's livelihoods with no change on the horizon, because not enough people will feel impacted fast enough for change to take place.
