On the topic of art conservation and archival practice, the good news is that art made for and by humans may be irrelevant in the next century. Even thinking that we will be of anthropological interest to future machine intelligences (or any other form of non-human intelligence) is anthropocentric. So I will continue to perform preventive conservation practices on artworks, hedging on a reality in which some form of intelligence gives a damn, but that doesn't mean I'm personally confident that will be the case.
