On-chain identity verification is, in my opinion, the most important piece of the puzzle for the future tokenization of real assets and the introduction of blockchain in institutional finance. On-chain identity verification goes beyond simply confirming who someone is; it is a core foundational technology for building trust and safety in the Web3 ecosystem. The existing methods involve central authorities like Google or Naver storing our information, but on-chain identity verification starts from the concept that I am the owner of my information, which reduces the risk of hacking (since data is not stored in a central server but is distributed, making it safe from large-scale personal data breaches) and, due to the immutability of the blockchain that records information permanently, once verified, the information cannot be tampered with and can be proven instantly whenever needed. Additionally, because it is easy to comply with KYC/AML regulations on-chain, it can significantly reduce the hassle of having to repeat identity verification procedures every time one uses an exchange or DeFi. Once verified on-chain, one can complete identity verification simply by connecting a wallet without submitting separate documents when using other DApps. For institutional investors to enter DeFi, compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations is essential, and on-chain identity verification makes this possible. But the biggest attraction is that you can choose to prove only the necessary information. aka. ZKP (for example, to prove that I am over 19 years old, there is no need to directly expose my resident registration number or date of birth; I can simply provide a mathematical proof in response to the question, "Are you over 19?" while perfectly protecting my privacy.) Finally, having a trusted identity enables complex financial services like unsecured loans (if a credit score combined with identity verification accumulates, credit loans become possible). Moreover, there are many issues like bots or multiple accounts, but overall, it's good. So I have high expectations for Billions. @billions_ntwk Lastly, NFA.
