Coming to Arbitrum: Smoother Fees, Higher Throughput The new ArbOS Dia upgrade will bring users, builders, and operators: - More predictable gas prices on Arbitrum - Improved mobile & enterprise-grade auth tools - Ethereum Fusaka support Here’s the rundown 👇
Gas prices shouldn’t feel like rideshare surge pricing. With the Dia upgrade, Arbitrum will get: - Pricing changes to smooth gas spikes (and how long they last) - A higher minimum L2 base fee to balance DAO revenue & make spam more expensive Result: more predictable fees when the network gets busy.
Dia will lay the foundation for Dynamic Pricing. In a first-of-its-kind approach, Arbitrum will start tracking gas across multiple resources like compute, storage access, storage growth, and history growth instead of just one total. This is a major unlock: over time, this is how you safely push much higher throughput (like 10x higher gas targets) out of existing operator hardware.
Onboarding shouldn’t feel like an initiation ritual. With strengthened support for secp256r1, Dia will give builders: - Passkey-style authentication - Face ID / fingerprint signing patterns - Device-secured keys & mobile keystores - Enterprise flows like corporate IDPs and 2FA-backed recovery In short: mobile-native onboarding users know and love
Dia also expands what’s possible for Arbitrum chains. With Native Token Mint/Burn, Arbitrum chains can use interoperability-enabled token standards like LayerZero OFTs, xERC20s, native USDC, and native USDT (USDT0) as gas tokens by delegating mint/burn capabilities to a trusted bridge. That means: more gas token options for chain operators
Under the hood, Dia also pulls in Fusaka-era execution changes that matter for Arbitrum: - A new CLZ opcode (EIP-7939) - Safer, repriced ModExp (EIP-7823, EIP-7883) - Properly enabled BLS12-381 precompiles (EIP-2537) - Plus the new eth_config RPC method (EIP-7910) The goal: keep Arbitrum Ethereum-aligned.
ArbOS Dia is planned to launch early January 2026. If you care about smoother fees, higher throughput, and modern onboarding users know and love, this is the upgrade to follow. 🔁 Bookmark this thread.
