Reflections On Our Industry Before I went to work for former President of CBS, Inc,, John Backe, I was the financial guy for The MacNeil-Lehrer Report based at WNET-TV in NYC. In the weekly editorial meeting I always tried to sit next to Senior Producer Shirley Wershba, who had worked with Edward R. Murrow at @CBS Both of the anchors, Robin and Jim, always listened carefully to her infrequent observations and took notice. She was a very nice person and sometimes said things about big news events quietly to herself that I wanted to be there to catch. And they were always good. I'm thinking a lot about Mrs Wershba and the state of American journalism today - when it has just been revealed that a significant America military strike on a Venezuelan oil facility has gone unreported FOR MULTIPLE DAYS. Dear Shirley, I'm so very glad you didn't have to see this. Your Friend, Ted Carroll, President of Rasmussen Reports
