You know, the only thing I think I miss about the old days is putting together my own PCs. I don't miss underpowered machines, bulky displays, slow compile times, primitive tools and all that crap. I do miss the hardware tinkering. But there came a point where it didn't make practical sense to do that anymore. The amount of knowledge maintenance I had to do to keep current on PC hardware kept going up and up and up - it started to eat into time I needed for coding and tracking tools and languages. These days @tekwendell builds my machines and does a much better job than I could.
