Here’s a fix: Members of Congress get paid the median salary of a worker in the state or district they represent. The member of Congress gets a raise when they help implement policies that raise the pay of their constituents. Add term limits, a ban on insider trading (criminally punished if violated), and a statutory ban on lobbying after serving in congress. I plan to release a bill called the Permanent Washington Clean Hands Act.
