Every journalist, no matter which side of the political map they are on, who controls the material of the Bild and Qatargate cases - knows how biased, negligent, and agenda-driven the product presented to the public in the two episodes of the interview with Eli Feldstein was.
45 minutes for each episode where the journalist interviews his friend, allowing him to recite messages that are hidden from the evidence or from previous versions of Feldstein himself in the investigation.
No counter-evidence is presented to Feldstein. He is not confronted with the fact that the police and the prosecution did not believe him. He is not confronted with his initial versions. He is not confronted with the "location" checks, nor is he confronted with the fact that Orich did not respond to him after the question "Who do you have to burn abroad, something big" and "something big is brewing".
The work is so negligent that even this quote, which appears in the indictment, Asnaheim misquotes. In Asnaheim's version, the quote becomes "Do you have someone abroad to burn this thing?".
Maybe Feldstein has good answers to this, but Feldstein is not even asked.
This is just one small example.
There are many more.
Asnaheim's advantage is that the general public does not control the material. With so many publications and twists, the public no longer remembers who is who. And Asnaheim-Feldstein exploit this to allow the accused-suspect to sit in the interviewee's chair and publish whatever he wants, without interruption.
Take Qatargate. Earlier this week, I showed in the clearest way that Feldstein knew he was working for Qatar. "We are on the table", "the patients", etc. leave no room for doubt. Asnaheim did not confront him with this. Instead, he let him repeat the mantra that he is a foolish agent.
But the peak was probably when Feldstein claimed he never knew that Orich worked for Qatar.
And then not too many moments pass, and Asnaheim asks Feldstein: "The question of questions, did Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu know about Jonathan Orich's connections with Qatar?" Feldstein answers: "Next question". Asnaheim asks again: "I have to press you, did he know or not?" Feldstein again answers: "Next question". And this ping-pong continues.
But wait? A moment ago Feldstein himself claimed he did not know about Orich. So now he is not willing to answer whether Netanyahu knew? What is this game? How does Asnaheim allow this game?
Asnaheim completely goes along with this ridiculous game and does not press at all.
This is how the entire interview looks.
Asnaheim decided to interview a suspect in serious offenses and someone suspected of serious offenses, and simply let him recite messages about how he was the victim in the story. What is uncomfortable simply stays out.
