On December 9, according to Circle's official news, Circle Internet Group (NYSE: CRCL) announced that it has obtained a financial services license (FSP) issued by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of the Abu Dhabi Global Financial Center (ADGM) to operate as a money service provider in the international financial center.

At the same time, Circle has appointed Dr. Saeeda Jaffar as Managing Director of the Middle East and Africa. Dr. Jaffar, previously senior vice president and country manager of the GCC Group at Visa, will be responsible for leading Circle's regional strategy, deepening partnerships with financial institutions and businesses, and accelerating the adoption of trusted digital dollars and on-chain payment solutions in the UAE and the broader Middle East and Africa markets.

According to Jeremy Allaire, co-founder and CEO of Circle, regulatory transparency is fundamental to building a more open and efficient internet financial system. This license enables Circle to expand regulated payment and settlement use cases in the UAE for businesses, developers, and financial institutions.
