People are so weird about pets. You're not legally obligated to take the dog out back and shoot it! You can rehome a half-decent pet in a few weeks, a few months if it's a bit obnoxious

This is also the best way to get a dog, btw. A family pet rehomed for logistical reasons is way better than the typical shelter dog and way easier than a puppy
