OK ok I’ll say more than just the sarcastic #math I just posted. The federal budget is about 6.5 trillion (yeah) of which about 2/3 is entitlements, the next big chunk is defense. All the “phony NGO’s” (there were some but I won’t argue about how many) and USAID (whether you think they are scams or great ideas) are trivial versus the above. Trivial. Cutting them affects our ability to eliminate the income tax not at all. We should indeed cut bad ideas and feed good ones. But we can’t pretend cutting these matter multiple orders of magnitude more than they do. Oh, and tariffs have zero, zero, hope of eliminating the income tax. There are no numbers that make that even vaguely close to working. All importation of any kind goes to effectively zero well before we raise anywhere close. There, you made me do the #math.
