Had a wonderful day today at the hobby shop w/ the CEO of Cuteness (my kid) We played Pokemon TCG and to put it simply, she whooped me. The game took forever because we're both so new to it but we play every couple of weeks. Started the session with sleeving up with Dragonshields. Funny how when i was much younger i thought these were so incredibly expensive. $12 a pack, the cheaper ones were raided by recent MTG players. She loved the matte finish and how they made the cards look glossy on the front. Such a win. She couldn't care about protecting these cards a year ago. Played starter decks and used calculations and deck-thinning principles to learn math, and judge probability. Homeschool everywhere, part of our vibe. 30% chance of an out? That wasn't lucky, she was aiming for it. My happiest loss tbh. I'm competitive but when she wins, I win too.
