After so many years, grapes 🍇 and cherries 🍒 have their own emojis, but why doesn't "litchi" have an emoji? In the first half of this year, my company and I, along with our designer, submitted the emoji design draft/application letter for "litchi" to the Unicode Consortium according to the standard process, as shown in the picture below. Why "litchi" instead of "lychee"? It's because the Unicode Consortium has a 4-year cooling-off period for rejected emoji proposals, and the application for "lychee" submitted by others was rejected in 2022. Fortunately, "litchi" has two English words! On the official website of the Unicode Consortium, it is clearly stated that the results of the emoji applications will be announced on November 30, 2025, which is in the next 10 days.
